“Part of my job involves trying all the latest and greatest trends in health and wellness, but one ritual I love the most is actually an ancient Chinese technique called gua sha. Every evening, I spend a few minutes giving myself a mini-facial massage with a gua sha tool like the Rose Quartz set from Solaris, which helps increase the flow of qi (energy) in the skin, boost circulation and reduce puffiness for a bright and glowy complexion. In between writing articles and hosting Instagram Live workouts for HealthyHKG, I also stay energised with green smoothies powered by Welleco, a great-tasting vegan protein powder by Elle Macpherson.”

“During my postpartum confinement, my mother made sure I consumed a balanced diet with adequate nutrients to allow my body to replenish reserves and heal. Ever since then, I became a true believer of ‘you are what you eat’, which became one of the principles upon which The Cakery was founded. As a working mother of two, my stress levels are often elevated and I’m not afforded a lot of me time, so one of the things I love doing is adding superfood powders to my drinks, breakfast bowls or baked goods to support my well-being. I also love making changes to regular recipes to improve the overall nutrition profile of the food I consume. I’ve also become more conscious of the products that I use on a daily basis. After becoming aware of the amount of chemicals used in some of the most popular over-the-counter beauty products, including sulfates, parabens, and triclosan, to name a few, I’ve also delved more into clean beauty, which led me to launch KIRR.”

“Mindful awareness practice is a way of reconnecting your internal and external environment. The benefits of meditation, focused breathing and various other mindfulness-based techniques are vast and simple to achieve through dedication to practice. Take a moment each day to sit and become fully aware of your surroundings. Sink deeply into the powerful feeling of stillness and for one moment in time, dedicate your intention to just exist. For an easy way to balance your nervous system and reduce the impact of stress on the body, breathe in slowly to a count of five seconds, followed by a slow exhale to a count of five seconds. Continue this for several minutes until you feel the relaxing benefits of this balanced breathing rhythm.”
