When it comes to reorganising your closet, the process of deciding what stays and what goes should be a cathartic one. Luckily, we have it down to an art form.
To do it properly, you’ll need a couple of hours and three large bags labelled "donate", "repair" and "consign". Start by identifying all the things you might want to ditch using the sorting criteria below.
If, for any piece, the answer is “yes”, consider the “donate” or “consign” basket, depending on whether or not it’s in good enough condition to sell. If it needs a little TLC, it most likely belongs in “repair”. (For more on baskets and what to do with them, stay tuned for part two of this series.)
