Out of office:
Lane Crawford staff ON HOLIDAYS
The festive planning coming out of Lane Crawford HQ
Words by Bridget Barnett
If, like us, you’re busy mentally assembling a holiday-themed moodboard, look no further. Lane Crawford’s own share their inspiration for how to spend and style your more low-key-than-usual celebrations.
“I am going to be spending this festive season with my chosen family this year! Regardless of any restrictions, I intend to be eating, drinking and being merry, albeit likely masked and in socially distanced fashion. As a nod to the season (and as a bit of a mood-lifting antidote to missing my family this year) I’m planning to wear something blingy and a little bit rude! Something along the lines of a self-portrait mini dress coupled with thigh-high, crystal-embellished Miu Miu booties and some big, shiny costume jewels that may or may not get lost as I flick my hair around dancing in the living room or private dining room.”
– Christel Escosa, Head of Content
“This year is all about the Christmas dinner! Either at friends’ homes or in intimate restaurants, food is the vibe. My holiday usually goes one of two ways: a shiny party look or a proper dinner outfit. This year, it seems I’ll need more proper dinner outfits, which for me consist of comfy knits with statement patterns. Dries Van Noten is my trusted brand for celebrations. And when it comes to my key accessory for a big night with friends, it is Dr. Barbara Sturm Glow Drops.”

“The holidays at home will be special for me this year as I recently had a baby, so this will be her first Christmas. As we will be spending so much more time than usual at home, I’m focusing on making ours feel really festive. I’m still trying to make up my mind on how over the top I’ll go with decorations; even though my daughter won’t remember it, I want a lot of photo evidence of her inaugural Christmas! As for what I’ll wear, I like to keep comfortable, and there’s nothing more comfortable than cashmere. My go-to is a cardigan—I saw this Burberry one in the menswear department last season, and I'm so happy to see it's now in women’s sizes. It’s so easy to throw on yet it feels put together. I am always in jeans which are perfect for cooking, chilling, decorating and crawling around after my daughter! I would wear these MOU fur slippers with white socks for a mega grandpa-chic vibe. I also love this cosy Gabriela Hearst wrap—I have an idyllic vision of wrapping my little family plus dogs in its luxurious cashmere warmth!”
