Mercedes Castillo, the former accessories director at Tory Burch, has come into her own with the launch of her namesake accessories label.
Modern, bold and colourful, the designer “celebrates creativity and personal expression” with her contemporary designs. “We are inspired by architecture and by abstract art, but at the same time, we have a certain easiness and wearability,” says the Spanish designer.
“When we launched the collection, it was key for me personally, to make a collection that was relevant and is relevant to who the woman is today.”
With their exaggerated proportions and muted palettes her sculptural pieces balance the fine line between statement drama and a modern effortlessness that has come to define the Mercedes Castillo woman now and in the future.
