Few brands have captured the sustainable fashion movement quite like Innotier. Its comfy-cool aesthetic makes it easily wearable, and an innovative take on epidemic prevention technology places it as one of the front-runners when it comes to challenging fashion industry norms.

Invention and sustainability are core to Innotier’s brand philosophy. With an established manufacturing and R&D facility, Juliana Lam, Chairwoman of Julius Group Holdings and Founder of the Hong Kong-based retail brand INNOTIER, powers ahead to create invisible coatings and new fibers with patented technologies that offer us protection from an equally invisible enemy.

Here, she shares with us the background behind the brands’ innovation, the challenges of running a sustainable brand, and the must-have pieces to invest in for our new normal.

Sustainability and ESG are embedded in my DNA. With over two decades of glove manufacturing experience, my expertise lies in the production process. Innotier was born out of what I was seeing on the news at the height of the first wave during Chinese New Year in 2020. The elderly were queuing up for disposable masks and it sparked my desire to offer permanent solutions to those in need with minimal impact to our planet.

I have a R&D centre in the UK that focuses on product development and I decided to put our resources into developing a sustainable line of clothing that combines technology and fashion.

OEM manufacturing plays a passive role in inspiring customers to adopt a more sustainable lifestyle, but with full control of our supply chain we’re able to swiftly introduce products with the best quality that combine “Hygiene technology, Sustainability x Fashion.” Innotier’s collection greatly increases interest and awareness on leading a greener way of living as it is easily accessible to a broad audience.

Our products are reusable and human-centred - meaning we put heavy emphasis on the form and function of our designs to enhance everyday life. Our manufacturing plant in China has obtained the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certification. Driven by sustainable development goals, our factory strives towards reducing the harmful impact of production as well as develop an environment for our staff that embodies the ideals of a greener workplace.

We have two main technologies: our patented UVC disinfection system and Ionic+ ™ technology.

We are moving rapidly, and our technology is very new to the market. The antiviral features on our INNOSHIELD masks, proactively inhibit and eliminate 99% of viruses and bacteria in a very short amount of time. Its function is different from disposable masks that only filter and block viruses. It takes time to educate and explain the technology behind these differences. With time, data, and official certification, we can help people better understand. Once they’ve tried our products, they love them.
