Luxury is synonymous with exclusivity, but for me, it is about much more than that. It’s about self-perception, a positive attitude and right that you give yourself.

Growing up, I was always drawing and painting but a defining moment came when I was at university and I saw a design by the founder of Comme des Garçons, Rei Kawakubo. I was mesmerised by the shapes and colours of her work which inspired me to go to Paris to study fashion design further. It was there that a new world opened up for me, and after returning to China, the rest is history.

Great style is about ensuring you are dressed for the occasion. Remember, there’s a time and place for everything.

I’ve always loved how Lanvin play with fabrics and cut and admire the way Lucas Ossendrijver and Alber Elbaz inject brand DNA into classic design. This season, they have balanced their collection between their signature silhouettes and an interesting new direction that plays with colour and layers to create a more youthful tone. Lucas and Alber are designers whose key focus is on finding the most special silhouettes and materials.

Feeling good is more important than looking good. The secret to living a long and healthy life comes down to the right attitude – positive thinking is all you need.
