WONDERS OF LIGHT LASER TREATMENT
We know you want to glow this season. Be it a big impact from simple services or lasting shine from make-up heroes, follow our programme for topical care throughout the season. Last week, we advised on sets & advent calendars. This week: the services.
Here, we’ve asked Gavin Tsoi, Chief Clinical Specialist of Oneness, to tell us everything you need to know about light therapy - a non-invasive cosmetic treatment that will solve multiple skin concerns in one go.
What is Light Therapy and what are the benefits?
While traditional laser treatment only targets one type of tissue in your skin, Light Therapy uses varying colour wavelengths of visible LED (light emitting diode) to trigger your body’s natural responses to tackle various skin concerns.
Wonders of light therapy is about maximising the benefits of different wavelengths of light in minimal sessions. The practicality, experience and the way of understanding the treatment make all the miracles. Wonders of light therapy can boost collagen, reduce pigmentation and calm inflammation. It is 4 times more effective than traditional facial treatments.
How does it work? Any downtime?
While the dreaded UV light can cause damage to skin cells, LED has a long wavelength that allows it to penetrate deep into the skin and effectively stimulates cell repair. It’s no pain and all the gain with zero downtime.
During the treatment, I would guide you through each step so you can observe the colour changes of freckles and blood vessels throughout. This 30-minute treatment is perfect if you need a quick pampering session during lunch.
Why is it good to do it before the holidays?
Results are visible after two weeks. With the collagen boost, your skin will be naturally hydrated, making it a great foundation for your make-up. It will also improve your skin’s complexion and significantly reduce fine lines and dark eye circles! This treatment is the secret to giving dull skin a good old glow boost.
What aftercare should you use after the treatment?
Avoid sunlight 48 hours after treatment and apply SPF daily. Your skin will go through a renewal process and your cells will start to produce collagen on the third day. The repair process needs a lot of water so remember to increase your water intake. Don’t forget to incorporate hydration boosting skincare products to get the most out of your facial. Consider introducing moisturisers and serums that contain vitamin E, vitamin C, antioxidants, ferulic acid, hyaluronic acid, and ceramides. All these active ingredients are great for a post-treatment regimen.
