A NEW BEGINNING
Welcoming the Year of the Ox
Words by Bridget Barnett
The first blooms of spring herald a new beginning, marked by a moment of celebration. It’s a moment to toast to tradition, and a time to gather around the table with family and friends. When mouthwatering aromas of a banquet fill your senses, champagne is popped, and an abundance of bright, auspicious flowers, fruit and foliage embellish every surface.
But these delicious and decorative accoutrements of Lunar New Year won’t last long. They’re outlived by memories made, future plans envisioned and intentions born for the months and years ahead.
So as bellies fill and intimate moments are shared, we as individuals are ready to reset. Treat it as what you will: a metaphoric cleansing of the mind, a clean slate, a fresh start. Above all else, take this time to relax and rejuvenate, to restore energy and brighten eyes – and spirit. In turn, we create space to foster and nourish our health, happiness and prosperity. We could all use a little more of that.
Happy Lunar New Year!
